LiNK Help the Crisis!

LiNK (which stands for Liberty in North Korea) is a non-profit organization in which we tour the country of the United States to show the documentary, host fundraisers, and events in hope to raise money to relocate many of the refugees in North Korea who are unable to flee.

Currently, there is a crisis dealing with human rights that is present in North Korea.

Not only does the North Korean government limit free speech, assembly, press, and religion, but wrong doers and wrong thinkers are also punished in ways we could never imagine, sometimes even with death.

There is also a large amount of people who are malnourished because the government barely rations enough food to keep people alive. The women and children of North Korea are forced into Sex Trafficking and Child labor while the men are being tortured in concentration camps. This situation is worsened when the North Koreans try to flee their country in search of food and/or freedom, but are not welcomed in neighboring countries and are often killed in the process of making a better life for themselves and their families.

I was granted the opportunity to become a part of the LINK team after a competitive series of interviews, questions, letters, and videos this coming. Out of all the potential interns from my school, I was granted the internship as a Fall 2011 Intern.  I’ll be spending the Fall 2011 semester interning at the LiNK headquarters in Torrance, California!

This is a remarkable experience as well as a world changing movement! As a volunteer in California my duties will attain to doing what ever it takes to raise awareness to this crisis!

Many people seen this video at least 5 times over the last year! It is by far the funniest video ever. With over 150,000 views entertainer Phill Wade definitely is not camera shy! In his video "Best Trey Songs Impersonation Ever" he is candidly being recorded while he does his impersonation of the R&B/Rapper Trey Songz. 

He also makes videos mocking other well known songs to Hip Hop and Rap such as Rick Ross's BMF (Blowin Money Fast) and Waka Flocka's "NO HANDS" and well known dances such as Party Boy Flex.

You can tell that nothing he does is rehearsed! this is what being a comedian means. Phill Wade definitely needs a comedy sketch show combing all his talents! He sings, dances, and has an unbelievably amazing personality. When ever i want to share a laugh i enjoy pulling up his you tube videos and cracking up.

Beyonce's "4" IN STORES NOW!

Beyonce's new album "4" just hit stores yesterday June 28, 2011. The artist had an earlier release date set for (June 24, 2011) however it got pushed back due to an unexpected leek of her album, 3 weeks ago. Beyonce and Rapper/Husband Jay-Z had an emergency meeting with Columbia records to discuss the negative feedback from the fans. Although Beyonce appreciates all positive feedback from her fans it wasn't good enough.

SO...

Back to the drawing board it went until Beyonce's "4" was at its desirable best. Now the album has 2 extra upbeat tracks to satisfy those who claimed it was "gloomy and too mature" cough cough Perez Hilton cough cough

Now the album is doing very well in the stores and in my opinion Beyonce should thank her critics for giving her that extra push to create a one of a kind album.

A Lightening Bug's light finally going out?

 I remember as a kid how exciting it was to be granted permission to barrow an old jam jar to catch Fireflies and Lightening Bugs as soon as the sun went down. Lightening Bug catching was the neighborhood sport for some kids. And although 50% of those kids participating spent their time brutally torturing the poor lightening bugs by performing dissecting rituals to the bugs, it was always a nice way to spend your summer nights. The essence of summer truly comes through the light of the Fireflies that lit up my neighborhood and all the vibrant children in it.

Becoming an adolescent, I came to notice that these beautiful creatures are brightening less and less as each Summer goes by. The news of these bugs becoming endangered has been heartbreaking, however I could only understand why. Climate control issues as well as an unstable environment has become difficult to the bug to become accustomed to. Please people. Do what you can to save the environment. Something as simple as a Bug that Lights up is just as important to our human history as a major historical event. Once it is gone, it will be remembered as a favorite traditional memory.

Tyler Perry's For Colored Girls

Tyler Perry is truly a genius. He captures all the issues in the black community and turns a brighter light towards them. All of his movies are inspiring as well as very humorous! 

"For Colored Girls" is a film based on the play "For Colored Girls Who Have Suicide When the Rainbow is Enough." The cast is constructed by famous strong black women who have served as role models in the entertainment industry. From films, TV shows, plays, music artists etc, these women were the right pick! The cast is made up of Janet Jackson,  Phylicia Rashad, Whoopi Goldberg, Thandie Newton, Loretta Devine, Anika Nani Rose, Kimberly Elise, and Kerry Washington.

Tyler Perry Uses a combination of poems to tell the heartbreaking stories of 8 woman and how theie unity helps one another get through their problems. It is really a heart breaking movie however, it is really inspiring as well. Even though most of the movie is bad news, it proves that  you can get through the bad things in life with God on your side. Sometimes the bad things lead to the Good things and you cant get there alone.  For Colored Girls is now available on DVD so there is no excuse not to see it !

An 11 year old has reported to be gang raped by at least 18 men in Cleavland Texas. The men have been suspected after a middle school classmate reported receiving a mobile video of the alleged rape on her phone. Although it is unclear the absolute details of how the rape came to be, this young girl had to physically stand 18 men! This is ridiculous. Stories have said that the age range of the men are from 14 to 25 years old! Shame on them. An 11 year old tho? Ladies be careful with the men you trust. Rape suspects are often declared to be those you are well familiar with. You have a better chance in being raped by someone who knows you than a complete stranger. OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.

Underground Abortion Pill?

There is a new discovery alternative to surgical abortion in the Latin Society. In Latin America Cytotec, or the abortion pill, is an inexpensive underground abortion alternative available for women in Latin America. It does not consist of any needles, however there are serious side effects that often hospitalize many women. The pill is as low as $2 per pill and it has been smuggled into the United States for years to help Latin American immigrants who cannot afford abortion expenses in the US. The American medical system provides a similar pill called “mifepristone” that ranges from $400-$700 dollars in cost. This pill can only be use during the first 9 weeks of pregnancy. The pill blocks the hormone progesterone. If the uterus lacks progesterone, the possibility of a pregnancy continuing is rare. A second pill is then taken to empty the uterus. This causes cramps, fever, blood clots, and bleeding. Woman who take these pills result with the following side effects: bad cramps, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and chills. In the Latin America there is often a follow up process. The clinics that issue the pill will call and check up on patients to make sure the abortion is complete. Many women end up in the hospital after the final process of the abortion. This medication is validated as safe in the Us. I’m neutral when it comes to abortions. I am neither for nor against it. I just think this is much safer for those who are considering tragic options for terminating pregnancy. If you are pregnant and or know someone who may be pregnant and needs options, please visit your local  Planned ParentHood website.

Okay so it’s common for all celebs to go through the famous “before and after” phase of how they look with and without makeup. Most of them nearly fail. However, Kim Kardashian has made the biggest transformation that I’ve seen in a while. Yes she is gorgeous, but when that make up comes off?…PAUSE. The young celebrity has admitted to being treated to Botox.  Love you Kim, but it’s your booty,..not your (natural) beauty.

It is now only performed in Panama. There is a high risk of getting glaucoma, cataracts and other serious damages to the eye such as blindness. The cost of this surgery is 7,500 plus the travel expenses for going to Panama being that this surgery is banned in the US. I mean hey, it’s your eyes. This surgery sounds pretty cool. I never knew that this existed & I think its dope that you can alter the color of your eyes. However, I do recommended using alternatives such as contacts instead of the surgery. Being blind is not that great.
